Chicken Piccata, Shrimp & Clams, the Sautéed Mushrooms, and Del Miller. These are all part of the fabric of the original Victor’s. “I can’t remember when Del and I first met,” recalls co-owner, Mark Sindicich. “He’s been a regular since the beginning. He is part of the Victor’s family.”

And as families recognize special birthdays, Victor’s is excited to congratulate Del as he celebrates a milestone birthday this May. He is admired and loved by the Victor’s staff. He’s like their fun uncle, hanging out sometimes on days off like one of the guys. Mark says he’s become a dear friend and is honored to know him.

Never one to toot his own horn, Delano “Del” Miller and his late wife, Vickie, were very active at the Bon Air country club.  They were talented golfers, enjoyed traveling, and could often be found socializing with their friends at Victor’s. Mark believes it was Del and a small group of regulars who built the original Victor’s bocce court.

Over the years, Del learned how to best maintain the court, grooming and improving it year after year, until in 2016 it moved across the parking lot to its current location. He continues to care for the court as a personal project and takes the maintenance of it very seriously.  “Del likes to be busy,” Mark explains. “He spends a lot of time volunteering to keep our court looking and playing great.”

You can often find Del sweeping the bocce court (back side of the broom only!) or enjoying dinner at the bar. Be sure to say hi, wish him a happy birthday (it’s a milestone!), and ask him to recount one of his many entertaining Victor’s stories. He’s been part of the Victor’s family longer than just about anyone else. He’s a true Victor’s Classic.
